Isaac and his borthers, Jacob, George, & Samuel moved to North Carolina in the 1750's and settled Newton Cross Roads community in New Hanover Co. Isaac served in the Revolutionary War. Isaac had a son named Enoch Newton who's daughter Mary married David Wells, a pastor at the Bull Tail Baptist Church, where he served until his death in 1856. The members of the church voted to change the name from Bull Tail to Wells Chapel in his honor. The church is still in use today in the northwest corner on Duplin County.
