 Isaac Massey died at his home in Burlington Tuesday evening June 13, 1922 about 6 o'clock following a six weeks' illness with dropsy and heart trouble.  Mr. Massey has been in poor health for a couple of years, but until the last six weeks was out and around.  The funeral will be held at the home this afternoon at 3 o'clock in charge of Rev. Dr. Dunn of the Methodist church with interment in Graceland cemetery.  Mr. Massey was well known especially in the southwest part of the county [Gridley] and many friends will regret to learn of his death.  He was 76 years old.

 The funeral of Isaac Massey was held at the home in Burlington Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in charge of Rev. E. C. Dunn of the Methodist church and was largely attended.  Appropriate music was given on the phonograph.  The body was laid to rest in Graceland cemetery.
 Isaac Massey was born in Piqua,* Ohio, October 2, 1845, and died at his home in Burlington, Kan., June 13, 1922, aged 76 years, 6 months and 1 day [age stated is incorrect].  In January 1863 he enlisted in the army [January 4, 1864], and served two years in the Civil War.  He was a member of the 10th Ill. Cavalry, Co. H, Vol.  He received his discharge in 1865 [November 22].
 In 1866 he was married to Miss Charlotte [sic; should read Caroline] Newlin of Lovington, Ill. and to this union were born seven children, three of whom are living:  Joseph of Woodson Co., Kan., Isaac of Yates Center* and John of Neodesha,* Kan.  His first wife died thirty seven years ago [Aug. 30, 1885].  One year later [March 10, 1886] he was married to Miss Lydia E. Love of Burlington, Kan. and to this union two children were born Miss Estella at home and Roy E. who died at Camp Dix, New Jersey in 1918, while in training for the World War.  Twenty grandchildren, and four great grandchildren also survive the deceased.
