  Mrs. Imogene FORREST, 25, wife of Carroll FORREST, is believed to have died yesterday morning between 10:30 and 11 o'clock as the result of inhaling gas at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.Lloyd ARKLIE, 209 Virginia Avenue following an inquiry concerning the details by Coroner Tom W. Geisler. Two hours of medical assistance and artifical and mechanical respiration efforts by Red Cross first aid students and members of the fire department were unavailing.
  Mrs. FORREST had been in poor health since the birth of her daughter a little over three months ago. This, together with the suspense of waiting for her husband's call to service with the U.S. Army Aviation Corps since his enlistment four months ago, is known to have preyed upon her mind. Mr. FORREST was to have left tomorrow for Grand Rapids to be inducted into service. He received notice last Saturday to report for duty.
  Mrs. FORREST was alone with her child in the parents home yesterday after Mrs. Lloyd ARKLIE had left for LaGrange in response to a sick call from her mother, Mrs. Mary TURLEY. Mrs. FORREST had planned to make her residence at the ARKLIE'S until after the war. She was found by her husband shortly after 11:30 yesterday when he came from his work for the noon hour.
  Imogene ARKLIE was born in Sturgis, Feb. 2, 1917, a daughter of Lloyd and Frances E. (TURLEY) ARKLIE. All her life was spent in this city with the exception of four years' residence at West Palm Beach, Fla., with her parents. She graduated with high student honors in the Central High School class of 1935 and was prominent in student and Methodist Sunday School activities. Her marriage to Carroll FORREST was consumated on April 5, 1934 at Albion, Ind. For six years Mrs. FORREST was payroll clerk at the Berridge Shear Company.
