From the Sturgis Journal, Friday, Oct. 4, 1963. Mrs. Frances E. ARKLIE, 77, widow of Lloyd ARKLIE, died at 3:20 a.m.Friday in Sturgis Memorial Hospital where she was last admitted Sept. 22. She had been in ill health for the last 12 years. Mrs. ARKLIE , whose home was at 209 S. Maple Ave., was born in LaGrange, Ind., Sept. 22, 1896, a daughter of Albert and Mary ( GRUBAUGH) TURLEY. She had been a Sturgis resident since 195 with the exception of about four years in Florida. Her marriage to Mr. ARKLIE was solemnized Sept. 22, 1910 at LaGrange. He preceded her in death June 16, 1962. Mrs. ARKLIE was last employed at the Bucknell Hardware Store where she retired in 1950. She had attended the Methodist Church and had been active in the Pythian Sisters, Pocshontas Temple No. 121.
