    Published in the Stockbridge Brief on Thurs Mar 13, 1913 p.1 - Hugh McIntyre was born at the present homestead, Feb 19, 1841. Parents were James & Mary McIntyre. After spending his boyhood at home he enlisted in the war of the rebellion in 1861, serving 2yrs & 10mos. His occupation was a farmer on the present homestead. After an illness of 10wks he passed away Feb 26, 1913, aged 72yrs 7days. He is survived by 1 bro, Peter & 4 sisters: Mrs Ann McKenzie, Mrs Flora Bates, Mrs.Minnie Sweet & Miss Nettie McIntyre. Funeral srvices was held at the residence on Sat Mar 1st at 11am. Rev.Coats officiating. Interment at North Waterloo cemetery.
