His obituary in an unnamed paper notes that he was a member of the Washington Outing Association, the Belleville Democratic Club, the Exempt Fireman's Association of New Jersey, Garfield Chapter, No. 19 Brotherhood of America of Bloomfield. He died of pneumonia. The funeral was from his late residence, the residence of his son Hugh V., 232 John Street (now Belleville Ave), Belleville, Essex County, N.J. .
