Hubert “Bud” Vernon Isley, 79, of 4557 Ashe Dr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Isley was born February 19, 1927 in Alamance County to the late Joseph Hubert and Viola Murray Isley.

He retired from General Electric after many years of service, was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and he loved to work in his garden. Mr. Isley was a proud Navy veteran in W.W. II were he served on the U.S.S. Los Angeles.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Hildred Loy Isley of the home; a daughter, Amanda Billings of Burlington; a grandson, Mike Billings of Burlington; two sisters, Ruth Teague of Burlington, and Christine Whitesell of Mebane.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Nathan Hooks. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Monday, January 22, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence.
