"Hezekiah was issued a certificate for 640 acres by the county court of Grayson County in 1853. Although the certificate was sold and was later patented in Ellis County (Robertson Third Class Nos. 2692 and 2777), Warden's claim was disallowed in 1857. He is listed on the 1850 census (Grayson County, family No. 55) as a 45-year-old farmer, born in Kentucky, with six children. The family came to Texas from Missouri."
