Herbert A. Gardner, 97, formerly of Warren

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. - Herbert A. Gardner, 97, Route 7, formerly of Warren, Ohio and Ben Hur, Va., died Sunday in Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.
A Virginia resident most of his life, Mr. Gardner was a charter member of Carpenters' Local 1438 of Warren.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Geraldine) Ray of Warren, Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Davis of Richmond, Va.; Ernest A. of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Phillip of Rogersville; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m at Broome Funeral Home, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
