Henson Queen purchased 100 acres on John’s Creek in 1820, which is near Caney Fork in the Jackson County area of North Carolina. In 1833, he purchased land in Macon County, North Carolina on the Little Tennessee River, later selling the land to John W. Queen. Family information indicates he is buried in the Upper Coward Cemetery on Caney Fork in Jackson County, North Carolina.

1826 – Rutherford Co. NC Bastardy records: State vs. Hensy M. Queen. #2. October 1826. Bastardy – Margaret Queen.

1820 - said to have purchased from Thomas Middleton a 100-acre tract of land “at the head of John’s Creek” (county not named!) March 4, 1820. The deed locates the land on “the head of a creek that runs into Caney Fork of Tuckaseigee River below ‘Showney John’s Cabin’.” Subsequently the Creek was known as John Ben’s Creek, and then simply John’s Creek.[58]

1830 - the federal census for Haywood Co., NC, p.363, lists Henson Queen (just one male, age 50-59 is in this household), Harmon Queen, age 20-29 (01001-10001), Samuel Queen, age 60-69 (001010001-000002001) and John Queen, age 20-29 (00001-10010; Joseph Queen, age 30-39 (21000100001-0110010001) with an older man age 80-89 (presumed to be his father William Lewis Queen, Sr.) and an older woman age 70-79 in the household, and a second Samuel Queen, age 50-59 (01010001-00011001) are on p. 364; Margaret Queen (widow of William Lewis Queen, Jr.) is on p. 372.[59]

1833- 8 April 1833, Henson purchased from Andrew Cathey a tract of land located in Macon Co., on the Little Tennessee River, deed witnessed by John W. Queen. He sold this land to John W. Queen in 1854. It isn’t clear whether he ever lived on this land, or in Macon Co.[60]

1835 - a Henson/Henderson Queen was among the voters in an election for the 12 Congressional District of NC, held on August 13, 1835, in Macon Co., NC, voting in the Franklin precinct. [61] No other Queens in this precinct, but Joseph and John Queen voted in the Cullowhee precinct; said to have been buried in the Upper Coward Cemetery on Caney Fork.[62
