Schlichtenmyer Henry, 78, died Wednesday at his home 4 miles southwest of this city, after an illness from grip and complications. He was the father of Mrs. A. J. Raber of this city. Funeral will be held from the residence Friday. Burial, Sweet Cemetery. ^ 4-13-1899 He was born Oct. 30, 1822 in Wurttemberg, Germany; came with his parents to America in 1830 and settled in Stark County, Ohio, at which place he was married to Sarah Miller in April 1846. They had 5 children, Elias, Epraim, John, Lucinda Raber and Sarah Fulk. He came to Indiana and located near Kendallville in 1852 and in 1864 moved to his farm 4 ½ miles west of Kendallville and remained there till his decease April 12, aged 76 years 5 months and 12 days. He was a member of the Evangelical association for over 40 years. He leaves a widow, 5 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral was at the lresidence Friday.
