Henry Meinhard came to the U.S. on June 1, 1846, from the port of Le Havre, France. Henry Meinhard became a naturalized citizen in 1852 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. Henry Meinhard served as a Private in Company A, 47th Georgia Infantry Regiment of the Confederate Army during the Civil War. After the Civil War ended in 1865, Henry left Savannah for New York City and went into business in that city. In 1900, Henry Meinhard and family were living at 18 East Seventieth Street, New York City. In 1906, Henry Meinhard and family were living at 784 Fifth Avenue, New York City. References
