Very interesting that they lived for some period in Port Huron, Michigan, apparently E. G. Harris never left, while his parents went on to TN.

Carpenter in Wales, as extracted (I guess) from his marriage certificate. He is also a carpenter in the 1880 US census in Pt Huron, MI.

It appears that Henry's mother, Ann Lewis died before 1849, when his father remarried Emma Porter. Henry did not live with his father (who lived inMuch Birch, Herefordshire), but rather with his mother's sister Amelia and her husband James Williams. according to the 1851 census. Emma is thename of Henry's first child, in honor of his stepmother?
