Henry Edwards was baptised on 17th April 1842 at Pagham in Sussex, son of Sarah Ann Edwards, formerly Hammond, and her husband John Edwards, an agricultural labourer. Henry's baptism records that the family lived in the hamlet of Bramber, which was actually in the neighbouring parish of North Mundham.

Sadly Henry died as a baby, being buried at Pagham on 23rd June 1842, when he was said to be nine weeks old.
