MEBANE — Mrs.. Helen Grace Mebane Lloyd, 94, of the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness of one year.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late John Elmer Lloyd, and the daughter of the late Sidney Mitchell Mebane and Susan Frances Nelson Mebane. She was a retired school teacher and was an employee of Hawfields Presbyterian Child Care Development Center. She was a member of Mebane United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Mary McFarland Sunday school class.

Survivors include three brothers, Mr. William Paisley Mebane and Mr. Sidney Mitchell Mebane Jr.., both of Mebane, and Mr. Samuel Nelson Mebane of Hillsborough; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane.

The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of Mr. James and Mrs.. Bonnie Mitchell, 1269 Broadwood Acres Road, Mebane.
