Hazel Bradshaw Campbell

Marvin and Hazel Campbell in the late 1940's drove an old Hearse that the church had bought to pick up people and take them to church (an at that time she was the mother of three small children....Marvin and Hazel picked up several families including His sister and her family which later became my mother-in-law, yes my wife was one who rode in that old Hearse to church, Out of those that they pick up came several Ministers, Pastor, Ministers wives, Sunday School Teachers, and Church leaders, From that faithful work only Heaven will tell of what was brought in to the kingdom of God in that old Hearse...now at least 6 generations have been part of the Church because a young couple took time to bring others to church using what was available ...they later pastor several churches, Labor in Lord's vineyard, Till on 11th of April 2009 at 4:32 P.M. Aunt Hazel heard a call from her Heavenly Father for her to come home...only with a promise that we can see her again when this life ends....I knew this lady for over 60 years Thank you Uncle Marvin and Aunt Hazel Campbell. --Dlbradley1 16:51, 14 April 2009 (EDT)

Mrs. Hazel Brooks Bradshaw Campbell of Madisonville, Kentucky passed away at 4:32 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at her residence in Madisonville.

She was born December 12, 1924 in Ohio Co., KY to the late John Henry Bradshaw and Norma Irene Ford Bradshaw. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Curtis (1988), one son, Leonard Campbell (1945), four sisters Bessie Whitmer, Henrietta Baize, Ruth Isabel Bradshaw, and Emma Waldeck, four brothers, Jack Bradshaw, Buster Bradshaw, Clayton Jay Bradshaw, and June Bradshaw, one grandchild, Richard Roden (1969), grandson in law Wesley Littlepage (1996), and one son in law, Rev. Alfred Roden (2008).

She worked as a cook at the Western Kentucky Tuberculosis Hospital, Lamplight Café, The Colonel Café, and Waynes Fine Food. She was a member of the Hall Street Apostolic Church and she was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Rev. Marvin Campbell of Madisonville; four daughters and sons in law, Shirley and Billy Curneal of Madisonville; Carolyn Roden of Madisonville; Brenda and Doug Arnold of Madisonville; Norma and Dennis Tapp of Beulah, KY; two sons and daughters in law, Herb and Tracy Campbell of Gordo, AL and Jessie and Theresa Campbell of Manitou, KY; 25 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; Susie Campbell and Whitney Curtis; caregivers, Joanne Fuller, and Mamie Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Herb Campbell, Rev. Jessie Campbell, and Rev. Bobby Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. on Thursday at the funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Keith Curneal, Whitney Curtis, Dewitt Roden, Mark Arnold, Kristopher Tapp, and Jeremy Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be all the grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to Green River Hospice Patient Care in Madisonville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
