Obituary for Billy Dorris Curneal

Billy Dorris Curneal, 74, of Madisonville, KY passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mr. Curneal was born August 8, 1941 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late Arlin Elvis Curneal and Virginia Mae Pleasant. Billy was a retired fire chief in Madisonville. He was a master electrician and owner of Curneal Electric. He was the founder of the Madisonville Bass Club and a member of the Amature Trap Shooters Association. He was a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Hopkins Co. Fair Board and an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Curneal; two daughters, Lisa Curneal of Madisonville and Teresa (Allen) Parish of Manitou, KY; two sons, Keith (Angie) Curneal of Hanson, KY, and Tojo (Jennifer) Curneal of Madisonville; two half sisters, Pam Graham of California and Rita (Dave) Reed of Michigan; two half brothers, Randy (Pat) Curneal of Madisonville, and Roger (Jan) Curneal of Madisonville; 11 grandchildren;and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 15, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Ellis and Bro. Matt Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and after 9:00 A.M. until service time Friday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be the Madisonville Fire Department Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
