Obituary found at Indianola, IA Historical Library reads: "Harry Braucht, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Braucht was born at New Virginia, Iowa August 22nd, 1905 [year doesn't match his age at death] and passed away at his home in Des Moines November 7, 1918 at the age of 18 yrs. 2 mo. and 17 days. He was baptised and taken into the M.E. church during the pastorate of Rev. Stevensen and lived faithful until the last. He was a boy of good habits and was of a cheerful disposition. He was very patient with his sickness, kind and obedient to his parents and love by all who knew him. He was in the employ of Harris & Emery ever since last February and was until sickness seized him two weeks before his death. He leave to mourn his death his father, mother, two brothers: Worth and Absolam Agustus, who is serving in the United States Army and stationed at Camp Dodge. Five sisters; Mrs. L.C. Horton of Perry, Mrs. F.P. Farson of Truro, Mrs. Jo.O. McIntosh of Ely, Nevada, Venus and Aleatha of Des Moines, his aged grandfather, A. B. McIntosh of New Virginia and a host of relative and freinds. All were present at his bedside at the time of his death but two sisters, Laue and Aleatha.
