Harriet Zartman, on January 11, 1848, married Joshua Smith, born March 9, 1819. Mr. Smith was a carpenter and builder. They lived in Jamestown, Ohio. Their children are: 1. Thomas Henry, b. January 30, 1849. 2. Martha Ellan, b. October 6, 1850. 3. Annie F., b. January 31, 1854; died aged 30 years. 4. Margaret Emma, b. January 1, 1856. Mr. Smith died February 28, 1892, and his wife died December 30, 1907. Thomas Henry Smith married Emma Rosalia Paullin on February 17, 1870. They reside in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Smith is State Agent for Fire Insurance. Following are the names of their children: 1. Maude, b. January 11, 1871, and died April 11, 1894. 2. Carl Harold, b. August 10, 1876. 3. Florence, b. March 21, 1878. 4. Annie, b. September 1, 1885. Carl H. Smith married Mae Q. Vance, December 27, 1900. Their son, Harold, was born November 30, 1905. Martha Ellan Smith, on October 21, 1869, married Samuel A. Harper, born May 10, 1847, in Rockbridge Co.. Va. To them was born a son, Ralph Wilbur Harper, on November 9. 1874. Samuel A. Harper served in the Civil War until severely wounded and discharged; at the time of his death—June 10, 1889—he was Sec. and Treas. of a manufacturing company. Mrs. Harper resides with her son in Dayton, O. Ralph W. Harper is a pattern maker and holds the position of foreman; he married Ennettie Smith June 27, 1899; their children are Howard Byrne, b. April 14, 1906, and Martha Evelyn, b. February 25, 1908. Margaret Emma Smith, on June 12, 1875, graduated from the High School of Jamestown, O. On July 17, 1877, she was married to Charles H. Jenkins, and they reside in Jamestown. Their children are Annie, b. February 15, 1879, and Mary, b. December 20, 1881. Annie Jenkins, on October 22, 1901, married Harry Agnew Frazier. Their son is Richard Jenkins Frazier, b. October 10, 1902.
