 "Gertrude MacMasters, skilled cook. Gertrude MacMasters, 88, passed away at the Silver Lake Center in Dover, July 4, 2005. Gertrude was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to Harold and Louetta Shankland. She had a career in fashion merchandising, working for Braunsteins in Wilmington and retiring from John Wanamaker in Alapocas. She was a skilled cook and enjoyed entertaining. She also loved playing bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, George G. MacMasters Sr.; and a sister, Genevieve Walker. She is survived by her son, G. Greer MacMasters of Rehoboth Beach; and grandchildren, Deborah Milner of Detroit, Mich., Wayne MacMasters of Newport News, Va., Linda Farrall-Smith of Newark and Elaine Balcerak of Dover.
