Hannah Shepard, d/o John, m. 1 Dec 1692 Thomas Ensign of Hartford.

  2.   Neither the birth date nor the death date given on this page for Hannah are found in the Barbour records for Hartford, or specified in the Descendants of Edward ShepardS1, or given in Source:Barbour, Lucius Barnes. Families of Early Hartford, Connecticut. Hannah is mentioned in the distribution of her father's estate 4 Sep 1710 which suggests maybe the 1709 death date given for her is questionable, an idea emphatically confirmed by her being mentioned in her husband's will dated 20 Jan 1737/38. However, she is not the Widow Hannah Ensign of Hartford whose inventory is dated 31 Jul 1764 (e.g., see Source:Connecticut Nutmegger (Connecticut Society of Genealogists), p. 39:47). That is Hannah Hopkins who married Thomas Ensign Jr.
