A newspaper announcement of Hannah's death reported that she was the wife of Allen Watkins and that they were married February 2, 1832 in Newark Valley, New York; he survived her. The obituary reported that Hannah was born in Berkshire, Tioga County, New York. They came west in 1855 and were members of the Presbyterian Church. The announcement mentioned that two of her brothers, Clavin and William Hovey, have long been residents of Belvidere.
