Occupation: Interior Decorator. Grace worked for her father at the Hicks Furniture Mart in Indianapolis (private secretary 1938). Later she and Archer owned and operated the business. As a decorator, she owned her own business for many years and later served as vice president for Kittle's Furniture Company of Indianapolis, retiring from Kittle's in 1973. She also owned and operated the "Gift Tree" in Wanamaker, IN.

Grace was the pianist for many years at the New Bethel Baptist Church at which time her mother was choir director. When Archer became the pastor at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pleasant View, Shelby County, IN, she was the choir director there for more than thirty years.
