    County Medical Ex-Chief Dr. Gordon A. Diddy Dies
    Funeral services for Dr. Gordon A. Diddy, 59, a Fresno physician and former director of the medical institutes for Fresno county will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Orr's Colonial Chapel. Entombments will be in the Chapel of Light. Diddy died of a heart attack yesterday afternoon at a local hospital. He served as Fresno county medical director from 1955 to 1960, retiring from public service in that year to enter private practice. He came to Fresno in 1952 as county director of TB control. Prior to accepting that position he had served as medical director of the Ahwahnee Sanatorium in Madera county since 1943. Diddy, a specialist in diseases of the chest was a former president of the California Sanitorium Association and the California Trudeau Society. He was a member of the Fresno Community Council Board of directors, the county, state and national medical associations and the California and American Thoracic Associatoins, and was a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He headed the Fresno County TB and Health assocation as director in 1953 and as president in 1962. He recieved the Dr. Henry A. Randal Award, given annually to a county resident for outstanding service to the TB program in 1964. A graduate of the University of Iowa medical school in 1938, Diddy interned in a Los Angeles hospital and served as resident physician at the Santa Clara County hospital form 1939 to 1943. At the time of his death Diddy was a member of the executive board of the Mid Valley TB and Health association. He also was a memer of E. Clampus Vitus and the Lannaec Society. He is survived by his widow, Arline, of 6220 E. Montecito Ave. two sons, Dr. Charles Diddy of Fresno and Michael Diddy of Belmont, a brother, John Diddy of Portland, and two grandchildren. The family requests any remembrances be sent to the Tuberculosis Association.
