[edit] Information on Goodrich Lightfoot, Jr.LIGHTFOOT.--(See William & Mary Quarterly Vol. II, p. 205). The will of John Lightfoot, referred to in the note, names his father, Goodrich, who died in 1738; brothers, Goodrich Lightfoot, Jr., and William; and sisters, Elizabeth and Mary; and bequeaths to Martha Chew a horse colt. Witnesses: Thos. Chew, John Howard, and Isaac Smith. Proved June 17, 1735. On April 27, 1738, Col. Goodrich Lightfoot, the father, executor of John Lightfoot, deceased, and Mary, his wife, sold land formerly belonging to John Lightfoot. Col. Goodrich Lightfoot died in 1738. The will of his son Goodrich, Jr., was proved in Culpeper county June 15, 1778; dated April 24, 1778. It names daughters Elizabeth James, Ann Grasty(?), Mary Hubbard, Fanny Hackly, Susanna Brooks, Priscilla, and Martha; sons John, Philip, and Goodrich -- the last two under age; wife, Susanna. Witnesses: Daniel Grinna, John Grinnan, and Jane Grinnan. References
