Spink of Altmar was fined $5 when arraigned before Justice of the Peace John Wilson... charged with failure to proceed with caution when coming off a road marked with a stop sign into a main intersection. According to Deputy Sheriff Glenn Thorpe, Spink collided with a car operated by Francis Stone of Richland... Both cars were considerably damaged but there were no personal injuries. Spink stopped and then pulled out in front of a car... traveling south on intersecting Route 13. Spink was arrested for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Spink, 71, retired Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. employe, died Thursday evening in the Veterans' Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a patient the past two weeks. His home was Pulaski RD 4. He was born in Williamstown on Dec. 22, 1895, son of Harvey and Millie Roser Spink, and was educated in the Kasoag school. On Oct. 30, 1926, he married Miss Gladys Dawley in Camden. For 35 years he was employed by the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. at its Lighthouse Hill station, Bennetts Bridge, near here, retiring in January 1961. He was a member of The Niagara Mohawk 25-year club, the Ricard Methodist Church, Ricard Grange and Russell Tryon American Legion Post, Altmar. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert J. of Altmar and Richard W. of Pulaski; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Lillian) Hutchinson, Altmar; Mrs. Richard (Esther) Kimple, North Syracuse; Mrs. Guy (Doris) Janacek, Altmar, and Miss Retha A. Spink, Pulaski; 20 grandchildren; a brother, Alden Spink, Altmar; a sister, Mrs. Gladys York, Whitesboro, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be... Monday at the Foster Funeral Home here with the Rev. Nelson Reppert, pastor of Altmar Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Williamstown, with full military honors by the Russell Tryon Post. References
