Gladys Krater Ferciot, 98, of Ostrich Road, the St. James community, died Monday evening at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Herbert Michals on the Newport Highway.
She moved to Greene county four years ago from Americus, Ga.
Mrs. Ferciot was a retired school teacher.
She was a member of the Newport Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Mrs. Ferciot was the widow of William Herbert (W. H.) Ferciot, who died in 1977.
Survivors, in addition to those listed above, include two other daughters and sons-in-law: Lenora and Douglas Pudleiner of Jellico, and Nancy and Lewis Bame of Greeneville; 10 grandchildren: Eddie Pudleiner of Marco Island, Fla, Wayne Pudleiner of Germantown, Md., Karen Taylor of Jellico, Joyce Baldo of Mt. Airy, Md., Deborah Daniel of Dayton, Ohio, David Michals of Collegedale, Cherie Michals of Romania, Joylynn Michals of Collegedale, and Cynthia Michals and Roy Bame, both of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 great-grandchildren: Laura Pudleiner, Leila Baldo, Deana Baldo, C. J. Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Chaz Pudleiner, Cory Pudleiner, Jordan Pudleiner, and Brittany Pudleiner; one brother: Paul M. Krater of Loma Linda, Calif.; one sister: Marian Klingbeil of Carmichael, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Eleanora Krater and was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Bame.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. Paster Steven Poenitz and Dr. Michael J. Odell will officiate.
Interment will be scheduled for a later date in Oglethorpe Seventh-day Adventist Church cemetery, Oglethorpe, Ga.
