Gerhard Heinrich was one of the church founders. Since he was not in line to inherit the family farm in Venne, he joined the many migrants to America. In Cincinnati, Ohio, he married Maria Engel Otte, who he likely knew.

Did they migrate together to Cincinnati in 1836? Udo "hints" at this.

Did Gerhard Vornholt migrate to Cincinnati in 1836, with the one year younger, "William Kreinhagen" in this same year? William was also the son of a "Half-Heir" farm owner, in the adjacent village of Kalkriese. We know from William's data, that he migrated to Cincinnati also in 1836. It is likely they knew each other.
