The birth certificate of Gerardus Johannes Jozef Steenman can be found on familysearch [1]. In this certificate we find that he was born on 23 August 1892 at 6:30 p.m. in the Albert Cuypstraat 163. His parents are Jacobus Gerardus Steenman and Anna Maria Elisabeth Sluijter.

Military records

In his military records [2] we see the following information:
Gerardus Johannes Jozef Steenman, born on 23 August 1892, living in Amsterdam, son of Jacobus Gerardus Steenman and Anna Maria Elisabeth Sluijter, occupation: warehouse clerk, length: 1,591 meters, on 13 October 1911 he was approved to military service by the militieraad. However, he objected and on 22 November 1911 he was exempted from service due to bodily defects.

Death

We find information about his death from the Persoonskaart of his father Jacobus Gerardus Steenman, where he was listed as died on 27 November 1949 in Amsterdam. We also find two advertisements in the newspapers of that time where it was mentioned that Gerardus Johannes Jozef Steenman died on 27 November 1949. He apparently had been sick for some time but died nonetheless unexpectedly. He was 57 years old when he died and was a 35 years member of the Saint Willibrord Parish. There was a service for him on 2 December 1949 in the church of the Saint Willibrord Parish. After that he was buried at 12:15 p.m. of 2 December 1949 at the Roman Catholic graveyard Buitenveldert. In another advertisement we can see that he was a co-owner of a form called J.G. Steenman and sons Inc.
