Gerald W. "Buzzy" Donovan, 66, of Hollister, Mo., formerly of Dubuque, died after a sudden illness, Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Skaggs Community Health Care Center, Branson, Mo. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Branson, with Msgr. Bucher officiating. Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Regina Caeli Chapel at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Donovan lived in the Branson and Hollister area for the past 20 years, moving from Dubuque. When he lived in Dubuque he worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. in all the different processing areas of the plant. When he moved to Branson he became owner and operator of a resort. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Branson. Surviving are his loving wife, Joan, at home; two sons, David Donovan, of Rockaway Beach, Mo., and Dennis Donovan, of Branson; a daughter, May Kay Donovan, of Nevada, Iowa; two brothers, Neil Donovan, of Bernard, Iowa, and Francis Donovan, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, Madonna Brenke and Lois Houselog, both of Dubuque; and four grandchildren, Holly, Danny, Amy and Cindy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lulu Blanche Donovan; and a son, Daniel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Vision for the Future, in care of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Vaughn Drive, Branson, Mo. 65616.
