Many construction locations without detour signs. At Decatur the Meigs Co. & Decatur Public Library, Highway 30 East, Decatur, TN. 37322, (423) 334-3332, closed Wednesdays. Stopped Meigs Co. Courthouse, also closed Wednesday, then to Meigs county Health Department, open but only keep records up to 5 years, then send them to Nashville. We then left town went to Athens, found E. G. Fisher Public Library, McMinn Co., P.O. Box 1815, Athens, TN. 37371-1815. Closed 1st. Wednesday of each month. E-mail–bmercer@@usit.net, attention genealogy. Got gas at Athens 312.2 miles, 21.5 gal. @@156.9 = $33.75. 14.52 miles/gal. Then took I-75 to I-40 to I-26 at Asheville NC. Crossed into NC. At 4:00. Camped at Pisgah campground $6.00 on Blue Ridge Mountain Dr. Total miles 121, 342.3 Vital Records Dept. of Health; (615 - 741 - 3011) Tennessee Sent for Obituary of Georgia Clark Parson Aug. 17, 2001 - Received; Oct. 16, 2001 The Daily Post Athenian; Feb. 11, 1975 "Athens Tennessee - (Death, Mrs. Gerogia Clark Parson) Feb. 11, Obituary; Mrs. Georgia Clark Parson Dies Monday; Mrs. Georgia Clark Parson age 67 a well known resident of the Ten Mile community near Decatur died unexpectedly at her home Monday morning. Mrs. Parson moved to Athens with her husband, Walter J. Parson, who was the superintendent of the paper mill at Bowaters Southern Corp. until his retirement in 1965, when they moved to their residence on Watts Bar Lake. They had also lived in Cleveland where she was a member of the Board Street Methodist Church. She also held a life time membership in the Manistee Michigan order of the Eastern Star. Survivong other than her husband are one daughter, Mrs. John Hopkins, Savannah GA. Three grandchildren, Craig S. Hopkins and Miss Deborah Sue Hopkins, Savannah, GA. Walter L. Hopkins, Athens, one great-grandchild, Miss Deborah Elizabeth, Athens; two sisters, Mrs. S.M. Sorenson, Milwaukee Wis.; Mrs. Phyllis Dukes, Savannah, Ga; one brother Nelson Clark, Manistee, Mich. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Wade Janeway officiating. Following services in Athens the body will be taken to Savannah Ga. for entombment in the Hillcrest Abbey Masoleum.
