George and Hannah kept the Hotel Emerson, in Emerson, NJ in the mid 1800s. The hotel was still there, near the railroad tracks, in the 1980s. When Uriah died in 1911, George Jr. and Hannah traveled 150 miles from Hillsdale to be at the funeral, ages 94 and 95, according to newspaper accounts.
