    George C. Ralph Sr., 88, of Springfield died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Hospital. He was born in Springfield on Aug. 11, 1900, the son of the late Clyde and Minnie Hagele Ralph. He married Mabel Hesse in 1921 and she preceded him in death in 1939. He also was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Louise Ralph and Marguerite Ralph; one son, Robert; one brother, Elmer; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Mr. Ralph was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Holy Name Society. Before his retirement in 1962, he was a draftsman and production expediter for 42 years with Sangamo Electric Co.

    Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Ellen) Dahlkamp of Springfield, Mrs. Donald (Theresa) Deschene of Champaign, Mrs. Daryle (Rita) Stringer of Belleville and Mrs. Edward (Donna) Kunz of Decatur; four sons, George Ralph Jr. and Thomas J. Ralph, both of Springfield, James E. Ralph of Santa Ana, Calif., and John A. Ralph of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; 55 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Metzger of Pleasant Plains, Mrs. Floyd (Marie) Buckley of Cass Lake, Minn.; one brother, Charles Ralph of Pinellas Park, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

    Services at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. John Corredato, CSV, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
