    Ellen C. Dahlkamp, 95, of Springfield, died peacefully early Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family. She was the first of eleven children of George C. and Mabel Hesse Ralph. She married Clement “Tim” Lumadue in 1945 and they had three children. He preceded her in death in 1957. In 1963 she married Wesley Dahlkamp, adding his two children to their new family. They were married 29 years when he died in 1992.

    Ellen, a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, was very active in the parish. She taught primary grades at St. Aloysius School for twenty-two years, and continued her passion for education in various ways after her retirement.

    Survivors include one son, Tim (Rita) Lumadue of Vernon Hills; three daughters, Linda (Sid) Kramp of Riverton, Suzanne (Gary) Knowski and Kathleen (John) Link both of Springfield; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Loretta, Louise, Lynn and Mary Ralph and Pat Kunz; also her favorite brother-in-law, Ed Kunz; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, John Dahlkamp; grandson, Kevin Knowski; five brothers, George Jr., Jim, Bob, John and Tom; and five sisters, Mary, Louise, Theresa, Marguerite, Rita and Donna.

    Visitation: 10 – 11:30 am, Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church.

    Funeral Mass: 11:30 am, Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church with Reverend Manuel Cuizon officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
