George was listed as a butcher, age 18, living at the Meitzler House Hotel in the 1870 Monroe County, NY Census (Roll 972, p 3, fam 18). Theodore Meitzler also relates that his father, George was placed in a "pest house," at one time. whether he had "bugs" or some disease of some kind, I don't know (LKM). When his son, charles Henry was born in 1889, he was working as a smelter. The same was true in 1891 when the twins, Will and Fred were born.

  11. George died of Aortic regurgitation, with debility as a contributiong factor. He had had many attacks over the years. I wonder if this wasn't a paracsysmal tachacardia, such as his youngest son, Theodore had during the 1950s, and 60s. He died sudenly between 8 and 9 o'clock a.m. that Saturday morning. When he got up in the morning he said he felt better than usual and preparing to shave. Nellie couldn't bring him out of the seizure that came on.
