George Marshall was baptised on 19th November 1773 at Luton in Bedfordshire, son of Elizabeth Marshall, late Mardell, formerly Arnold, and her husband John Marshall. Sadly, George died as a boy of just five years old, being buried at Luton on 23rd November 1778. His burial records that the family lived at Chiltern Green, a hamlet on the eastern edge of the parish some distance from the town itself.
