George was a missionary to Denmark in 1911. They didn't have missionary training like they do now. The missionaries went to Salt Lake, took out their endowments, were set apart and sent on their way within a couple of days.

He served in World War I in France and Germany as a "wagoner", which is a supply soldier, taking supplies up to the lines, using a span of mules and a wagon.

He had married prior to going in the service. Following his release from the military he farmed in Oasis on 40 acres that he purchased from his father. They had a home in Deseret and a lovely vegetable garden. He farmed and worked as a section hand on the railroad for many years. He raised alfalfa on the farm.

He was a hard worker and a very kind and giving person.

George died incident to age.
