Facts and Events
Death certificates: Of Husband and Wife in possession of Geraldine C. Wilcox. Birth, Marriage, Death certificates in possession of Geralding C. Wilcox. Niels Peter Jensen and Bertha Marie Pedersen sailed for the U.S. on their wedding day. He had served an extra term in the military to raise the funds to make the trip. They went to Deseret Utah where they homesteaded some land and raised alfalfa along with other crops. He had a span of white mules and was called the White Mule Man. The family was very industrious and raised seven children. They were known for their compassion to others and often would send food and other items to help people who were destitute, remembering what a struggle they had when they first came to the area. In his late forties Niels Peter began to lose his sight. Eventually he became blind and very dependent on his wife to help him. When she became ill in 1925 and died, he took to his bed and died within a months time. To describe him, he was about 5 foot 10, stocky build, had a large bushy beard. Niels Peter Jensen was sealed to step-father Jens Jensen. Niels Peter Jensen is also spelled Neils. Please note that we have another baptismal date of 2 Apr 1883. Niels Peter Jensen medical history includes CVA, nephritis and atrial fib. References
