I have not seen that source but it ties in with what I've found so far. This rootsweb chart also has the parents of George!

Samuel Jackson, son of Thomas Jackson & Hannah Woodworth, B; 1731 in Plymouth, MA and died there. He was called "Captain" was probably a sea captain. If he served in the Revolution it was as a private. He M: 1753, Experience Atwood, dau of John Atwood. Their ch, all born in Plymouth:
