Daily Times-News, The Sunday, January 26, 1975 GEORGE W. HOLMES, Jr.., 77. of Rt. 1, Graham, died Saturday morning at ??? Hospital in ? after two years of failing health and one day of critical. A native of Davidson Coun-ty, he was the son of the late Rev. GEORGE W. HOLMES, Sr., and Mary Foust HOLMES and the husband of Mrs.. Fanny Thompson HOLMES. He was a retired sawmill operator and farmer and a member of Cedar Cliff Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, of the home; four sons, Dr. GEORGE W HOLMES, III of Charlottesville, Va., William W.. HOLMES of San Francisco, Herbert HOLMES, Sr., and Herbie HOLMES, both of Rt. 1, Graham; one daughter, Mrs.. Doris Webb of Sundial, W. Va.; two brothers, Joseph W. HOLMES of Burlington, Ralph W. HOLMES of Graham; one sister, Mrs.. Bessie Robbins of Rt. 1, Graham; eleven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Final rites Will be 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church by the Rev. Malcon Willingham, pastor, and the Rev. William L. Wolfe, pastor of the HaW River United Methodist Church. Burial Will be in the church cemetary. The body Will remain at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham until 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday.
