Found in the following censuses: 1850: 1860: 1870: 1900 Census: He is listed as the head of house living with his wife Lydia and 10 children. He is 44 years old and a farmer. 1910 Census: George is living at home with his wife Lydia and 8 children. He is listed as head of house, a farmer and 54 years old. I found an envelope in Dad's papers identified as "Pa's Will". The will appears to be his grandfather's, father of his mother, Hattie Chapman. The name the on the will is G. W. F. Chapman; it is dated 2/23/27. His wife Lydia (Lyia) is listed as the executrix. In July 1999 Rolf and I went to a house identified as belonging to Edwin Moore, the younger brother of Carmilla Moore. Information on his children was taken from a column called "Appalachian Roots" by Mary Jo Allen Brown, dated 3/9/1988, page 15 of The Martin Countian.
