Not the son of John Morrow (1710-1762): Gawen's father is identified in the will of his uncle Charles Morrow, whose 1758 will identifies his "eldest brother" as William, and leaves a legacy to "my Eldest Brother's Son Gawn Morrow."[2]

Gawen Morrow filed for a land warrent on 300 acres in Lurgan Twp in 1772. The return was filed in 1825 by William Morrow.

In 1798, Gawen Morrow is listed as owning two dwellings, an 18x40 1-story log cabin with 4 windows, and an unfinished 24x24 stone structure, both on 2 acre lot(s?), as well as a 1 frame barn 25x60 and one “old log”, on 262 acres adjacent to Elizabeth McKee.[3]

Will dated 26 Mar 1796, proven 5 Feb 1805 (Book B, p. 252). Names son William (“all my plantation” where I dwell in Lurgan Twp.), wife Margaret, son-in-law James Henderson, daughter Elizabeth wife of Grier Mcilvaine, daughter Margaret wife of John Bratton, granddaugther Jane Morrow Henderson, brother in law Andrew Murphy.[4]
