FREEMAN W. RAY, 75, of Delaware, Ohio, died Monday, March 3,2003, at his residence. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, inHuntington, W.Va., to Aaron and Lucy Wright Ray. He was a WorldWar II Marine Corps veteran, a member of the BB-63 BattleshipUSS Missouri Association, and the American Legion. He issurvived by his wife of 54 years, Alma Goodrich Ray; two sons,Rodney (Candy) Ray of Sarasota, Fla., and Richard (Monika) Rayof Delaware; four grandchildren, Aaron (Brenda) Ray of Tampa,Fla., Melanie (Bill) Woods, Stephanie Ray and Kimberly Ray, allof Delaware; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Connoth Rayof Huntington and Forrest (Virginia) Ray of Sumter, S.C.; twosisters, Helen Mathews of Trinity, Texas, and Freda Thomas ofRock Hill, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was precededin death by two sisters, Letha Thurgood and Mildred Dziarnowski.Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2003,at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St.,Delaware, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Thursdayat 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Sharon Beattie officiating. Burialwill be in Kingwood Memorial Park Cemetery, with Delaware CountyVeterans Association performing military honors. Contributionsmay be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
