Conoth- following WWII, where he served in the Marine Corps, hereturned to Huntington. He was active in politics and sports,especially golf which he continues to enjoy. Conn worked for onecompany for 40 years before leaving and establishing a newbusiness franchise. He retireded in 1998 after 52 years ofmanaging companies. He was formerly married to Florence E’we andhas 2 children Susan Margaret and Conoth Edward (Ed). **SusanMargaret Ray Popp (46-that's birth year) who married Larry JayPopp (deceased 1990). Conoth was born April 27, 1920, atCrossroads in Cabell County, a son of the late Aaron and LucyWright Ray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in deathby a brother, Freeman Ray, and two sisters, Letha Thurgood andMildred Dziarnowski. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps,was active in politics, served as a J.P. in Wayne County,retired from the Warren Pump and Supply, was an avid golfer anda member of the American Legion. Survivors include a son anddaughter-in-law, C. Edward Ray Jr. and Sandy; a daughter, SusanR. Popp, all of Huntington; grandchildren and spouses, Kristina(Scott) Webb and Kimberly (Patrick) Wellman;great-grandchildren, Cole and Brevin Webb and Sydney and MakennaWellman, all of Chesapeake, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law,Forrest (Virginia) Ray of Sumter, S.C.; sisters, Helen FloydMathews of Trinity, Texas, and Freda Thomas of Rock Hill, S.C.;sister-in-law, Alma Ray of Ohio; step-grandchildren, DerRenda,Rhonda, Arlie and Dwayne; and special friend of many years,Patricia Ankrim.
