    Fred A. Kuhnley, age 72, one of the best known residents of the Patton community, died on Tuesday of this week at the Miners' Hospital, Spangler. He was born in LaJose on April 19, 1893, a son of the late John J. and Edith Kuhnley and came to Patton with his parents in 1901. The greater part of Mr. Kuhnley's time was spent in railroad service, where he began in early youth as a warehouseman at Patton. He worked all the desks of the PRR and NYC in baggage room and for Adams' Express. He also served in the passenger station until 1914 when he was made chief clerk and assistant baggage, express, ticket and freight agent. He was appointed station agent at Loretto Road when the building program of the late C. M. Schwab was in progress. Mr. Kuhnley joined Odd Fellowship and passed through all the official chairs of the Order, and also of Royal Encampment No. 253, Ebensburg. He was a past Grand Master of the Second District of Cambria County. Mr. Kuhnley was a lifelong Republican and had served several terms as an assessor in the First Ward of Patton Borough. He is a past president of the Fourth District Republican Club and of the Odd Fellows Recreation Assn., of Cambria County, Inc. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church of Patton and of the Methodist Men's Club. Mr. Kuhnley is survived by a daughter, Alice Kuhnley, of Akron, Ohio; a son, John, of Florida; and three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Margaret Ahlstrom of Akron, Ohio; Ralph Kuhnley of Mays Landing, NJ.; Edward Kuhnley of Carrolltown; Mrs. Florence Lacue of Gallitzin; and Mrs. Arlene Blick of Patton. Friends are being received this Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Joseph Stevens Funeral Home, Fifth Ave, Patton. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. this Friday [September 10] in the Trinity Methodist Church, with Rev. John Camp, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. NOTE wife is not mentioned??
