Meigs County Telegraph, published Wednesday of Each Week 3 Apr 1878, p 8: Mr Francis Hysell, one of the oldest settlers on Hysell Run in this township, died suddenly March 31 age 84 years. He has an older brother, John C. Hysell. 19 April 1878, p 8: Francis Hysell whose death was noticed last week was born in Culpepper Co., East Virginia about 1794. He came to Ohio in 1806 and to Meigs County, 1809. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, married in 1815. Made a profession of religion about 40 years ago, ever since a member of Christian church. Buried Bradford Cemetery a mile or two above his residence. Leaves an aged companion. |
