"Scotsman's Desire" -- 100 acre portion which lay on the north side of the Patapsco purchased from Morris Baker for eleven pounds. Sarah Baker, wife, waived all dower rights. Will probated by John Hurd, Dorsey Petticoat, and Jacob Rowles, Jr. To son Francis 100 acres of "Scotsman's Desire," on the north side of the Main Falls of the Patapsco and 50 acres of "Dorsey's Addition," adjoining "Scotsman's Desire," and negroes. To son Lacon "White Oak Bottom," lying on the northern branch of the fork of the Great Falls of the Patapsco, 50 acres of "Dorsey's Addition" and negroes. Residuary estate to daughters, naming only Ventia and Elizabeth. Executor: Son-in-law William Murphy. Inventory of personal estate was filed at court on February 15, 1749/50 and appraised at 275/17/6 pounds, including four slaves. Charles Wells, who was desribed as son-in-law and Veneshe Dorsey as daughter approved the valuation. References
