“Frances Marion McLuen was born in Guthrie Center April 24, 1861 and died here on June 28, 1931, at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 4 days. He was the oldest in a family of 4 sons and daughters of George and Hannah McLuen. On May 5, 1887, he married Miss Nora Downing, and they had two children, a daughter died in infancy and Carl who died as a young man in 1918 flu epidemic. Mrs. McLuen died when the daughter was born. Mr. McLuen is survived by his mother, age 90, his sister Mrs. Fanny Parle of Eau Claire WI. Interment was in Bear Grove cemetery.” p1 c1 Guthrian
