Obituary:

Floyd Leon Carriker, 82, of Coffeyville, died Wednesday evening (June 21, 2000) at his home.

Mr. Carriker was born May 30, 1918, at Coffeyville, to William Jake and Edith Zola (Manley) Carriker. He grew up in Nowata County and attended Oklahoma schools.

He married Georgia M. Phillips on Oct. 17, 1936, in the Church of God, Coffeyville. The couple lived in Coffeyville after their marriage.

Mr. Carriker entered the U.S. Army in 1942, and served during World War II. He was discharged in 1943. He returned to Coffeyville and was employed at Continental Can Company, Acme Foundry, Morrow Foundry, and Muller Construction, from which he retired.

Mr. Carriker was a member of Emmanuel Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, South Coffeyville. His hobbies included collecting and selling antiques, fishing, and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Carriker; three sons, Gregory and Phillip, both of Coffeyville, and Stephen of Dennis; two daughters, Linda Knisley and Glenda Carriker, both of Coffeyville; and one sister, Gertrude Young of Rogers, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Chapel Pentecostal Church, South Coffeyville. Burial is at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, also at Coffeyville.

Friends may call at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel until 9 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday.
