Everett R Hertsel

Elkhart__ Everett R Hertsel, 78, of 1019 Northway Manor, died at 4:40 a.m. today (March 26, 1997) in Chelsea Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1922, in Elkhart. Surviving are one son, Mike L., of Edwardsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Susan) Tebo of Elkhart and Mrs. John (Nancy) Cook of Goshen; a brother, Ralph of Edwardsburg; a sister Jeanne Franks of Elkhart; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Two brothers Richard and Glen; and two sisters, Margaret Wallin and Betty Johnson are deceased.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home where the service will be 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. William Hesse, retired pastor of Zion Missionary Church, will officiate. A military graveside service will be led by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19 in the veterans section at Rice Cemetery.

Mr. Hertsel had worked for several local companies as a production worker. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 88.

Memorials may be given to the Elkhart Community Hospice Inc. or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
